Kibira is a 100% hemp fabric with a longer history than cotton or silk, made by twisting hemp stalks into threads.
The threads are unevenly twisted, resulting in a rough, stiff fabric with knots, wrinkles, neps, and imperfections.
This hemp is used for the blinds/screens seen in the Tale of Genji, store curtains, tablecloths, clothing, bags, etc.
This fabric is slightly thick with a coarse weave and firm texture.
*Please note that this material is easy to get weaving wrinkles during delivery.
*Due to the characteristics of linen, some people may find it to have neps or a slightly scratchy feeling.
Please be aware of this before purchasing.
